Admission to citizenship of the Republic of Kazakhstan on general terms
- Motivated application for admission to citizenship of the Republic of Kazakhstan addressed to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
- Application form of the established form;

- Detailed autobiography;
- Obligation to comply with the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
- Copy of the document certifying identity and confirming belonging to the citizenship of another state, certificate of a stateless person, birth certificate notarized;
- Copy of the marriage and birth certificates of children (notarized);
- In the case of children applying for admission to citizenship of the Republic of Kazakhstan, it is required from children aged 14 to 18 years old to submit a statement of consent to citizenship (notarized);
- If there are close relatives - citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan, copies of documents certifying the degree of kinship with a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan and a copy of the identity card (notarized) shall be submitted;
- Document on payment of state duty for each applicant (state duty is 1-MRP, paid on the account KZ24070105KSN0000000, code 108126 transferred to the State Revenue Department of Baikonyr district);
- Certificate of cessation or absence of citizenship of another state.
Admission to citizenship of the Republic of Kazakhstan on a simplified basis
List of documents required for admission to the citizenship of the Republic of Kazakhstan (for citizens of Russia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, as well as for women falling under the Convention on the Citizenship of Married Women):
- Motivated application for admission to citizenship of the Republic of Kazakhstan addressed to the head of the Police Department of Astana;
- Statement of renunciation of former citizenship addressed to the President of his/her state (notarized);
- Application form of the established form;
- Photocards of 3.5 X 4.5 cm (2 pcs.);
- Detailed autobiography;
- Obligation to comply with the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
- Copy of the document proving identity and citizenship of one of the countries-participants of the Agreement;
- Copies of marriage and birth certificates (notarized);
- From children aged 14 to 18 years old, a statement of consent to the adoption of citizenship of the Republic of Kazakhstan (notarized) is required for citizens of Russia, the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Belarus;
- If there are close relatives - citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan, copies of documents certifying the degree of kinship with a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan and a copy of his/her identity card (notarized) shall be submitted;
- Document on payment of the state duty for each applicant (the state duty is 1-MRP to be paid on the account KZ24070105KSN0000000, code 108126 to the State Revenue Department at the place of registration of the foreigner).
Obtaining a permit for permanent residence in the Republic of Kazakhstan
To obtain a permanent residence permit in the Republic of Kazakhstan, foreigners and stateless individuals shall submit the following documents to the bodies of internal affairs at the place of stay:
1) Application-questionnaire for a permanent residence permit in the Republic of Kazakhstan, in the form according to Annex 2 to these Rules;
2) A copy and the original (for verification) of a foreign passport, document of a stateless person of the applicant, the validity period of which on the day of application exceeds 180 calendar days; (if the passport is in a foreign language, a notarized translation of the passport is required);
in case of joint application, copies and original (for verification) of the child's birth certificate or other document certifying the identity of the child under 16 years of age;
3) Document on confirmation of solvency according to the Resolution of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan №531 “On approval of the Rules of confirmation by foreigners and stateless persons applying for permanent residence permits in the Republic of Kazakhstan, their solvency during their stay in the Republic of Kazakhstan”, except for ethnic Kazakhs, former compatriots who were born or previously held citizenship of the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic or the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as persons who have a criminal record of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as persons who are not citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
4) Document on criminal record (lack of criminal record) in the state of citizenship and or permanent residence, issued by the competent authority of the relevant state.
5) Notarized consent of a child aged 14 to 18 years for permanent residence in the Republic of Kazakhstan in the case of application of the child together with his/her parents;
6) Notarized contract (for foreigners confirming their solvency during their stay in the Republic of Kazakhstan) by an individual or legal entity, or notarized consent of an individual or legal entity to provide the applicant with a dwelling for residence and permanent registration for a period of not less than 180 calendar days;
7) Certificate of medical examination of the foreigner on the absence of diseases, the presence of which prohibits the entry of foreigners and stateless persons in the Republic of Kazakhstan in accordance with the order of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan from September 30, 2011 № 664 “On approval of the list of diseases, the presence of which prohibits the entry of foreigners and stateless persons in the Republic of Kazakhstan” (registered in the Register of State Registration of Regulatory Legal Acts № 7274) form -028U;
8) 1 photo of 35x45 mm size;
9) Document on payment of state duty for each applicant (state duty is 4-MRP to be paid on R/s KZ24070105KSN0000000, code 108126 to the state income department at the place of registration of the foreigner);
10) Fingerprints (at the place of registration of foreigners).
Note: In case of application of the child with one parent, the consent of the second parent is required according to the Law of RK “On the Rights of the Child in the Republic of Kazakhstan” dated 08.08.2002.
The documents specified in subparagraphs 4 must be apostilled in accordance with the Order of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated November 21, 2000 № 264 “On Approval of the Rules of Consular Legalization”, registered with the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan on January 4, 2001 № 1350, in diplomatic missions, consular offices abroad or the Department of Consular Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, except for countries that have acceded to the Convention on Legal Assistance and Legal Relations of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
