Amendments to the Rules for issuing an application for investor visa for non-residents of the RoK carrying out investment activities in Kazakhstan were approved by the order of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the RoK dated June 3, 2020, No. 11-1-4/184.
WPK consultants have prepared
a brief overview of the changes:

- 1. Definition of an applicant for issuing an application for investor visa has been changed by removing the reference to the Kazakhstan legal entities.A5 investor visa applicant is an individual person or legal entity.
Investor visa is granted to:- chief executives of non-resident organizations carrying out investment activities in Kazakhstan;
- deputy chief executives;
- heads of the structural divisions;
- family members.
It should be noted that investor visa is issued for a period of 3 years with the right of extension for additional 3 years. Moreover, investor visa holders are exempt from obtaining work permit. - 2. Submission of documents in electronic form has been implemented.In order to minimize an applicant's contact with the Investment Committee of the RoK MFA, documents for obtaining an application for investor visa can be submitted electronically via the egov.kz portal. At the same time, an applicant can still submit documents in paper form.
- 3. Deadline for consideration and issuance of an application for investor visa when applying via egov.kz portal has been approved.Term for consideration and issuance of an application through the portal is 5 business days since submission of documents. Standard processing time for consideration of an application in paper form is 11 business days.
